Sow the Future with Coco Peat
Cocopeat, also known as coir pith, coir dust, or simply coir, is derived from coconut husks, which are the byproducts of various coconut-related industries. Coir waste originating from coir fiber production undergoes a thorough process, including washing, heat treatment, screening, and grading, before being transformed into diverse coco peat products with varying granularity and density.
These products find applications in horticulture, agriculture, and industrial absorption. Typically, they are shipped in the form of compressed bales, briquettes, slabs, or discs, which end-users can expand and aerate by adding water. Remarkably, a single kilogram of coco peat can expand to 15 liters of moist coco peat.
Utilizing Coco Peat in Your Garden
Coco peat can be seamlessly integrated into your garden soil to enhance water retention, aeration, and reduce the susceptibility to soil fungus and root diseases. Simply blend it with the soil in a 25/75 ratio.
Additionally, it serves as an effective mulch when applied around garden plants, aiding in moisture retention and inhibiting the growth of weeds.
